Senior Pastor - Tom Hocking & Marianne Hocking
I was born and raised in West Allis by wonderful parents. I started speed skating when I was about 15, and as I became more involved, I began pursuing an Olympic dream. But, everything changed after I got into an accident with my bike. I started making poor decisions and became involved in drugs. By the time I turned 19, I realized that I was in trouble and needed help. A friend of mine was moving to Jackson, MI in order to attend school at New Tribes, a Christian mission organization. I helped him move and that same night I met someone who explained the plan of salvation to me. I realized that Christ was the help I needed, and I accepted Christ as my Savior! Christ began to change my life and I moved down to Chicago to pursue Biblical training. I grew spiritually at a rapid rate and God brought Marianne, my wife and my best friend, into my life. We were married in 1976 and have been blessed with three grown children and two grandchildren!
We have been involved in planting several churches, one of which we were part of for eight years. God then called us to Waukesha Bible Church, where I served as an Associate pastor for seven years. In 2003, God led Pastor Brian McIntyre to go to Africa and called me to serve as the Senior Pastor, here at KMCC. I have a burden for missions, and as a result, have been on more than 20 mission's trips.
I strongly believe in always furthering one's education in the Bible and it is something I continue to do to this day. I also believe in teaching God's Word, proclaiming it to others and living it out in our lives. I love serving alongside my wonderful wife Marianne. She is a true servant and encourager. She is very involved with the various women's ministries such as Bible studies, women's fellowships, and meeting with women one on one. I couldn't do it without her.
We love being a part of this church family!
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things, THROUGH CHRIST who gives me strength."
PASTOR'S ASSISTANT & WORSHIP COORDINATOR
I have been attending the church since it was founded, growing up in our children’s ministry and youth group. After High School, I attended New Tribes Bible Institute (Ethnos360) for one year, then decided to pursue my passion for music. I've been in several bands and have traveled around the country playing music. Ultimately thru it all, God was preparing me to be in ministry even though I didn't know it at the time!
In the spring of 2013 I came on staff part-time as the Worship Coordinator and in 2018 I began serving as Pastor's Assistant full-time.
OFFICE STAFF - SECRETARY/ACCOUNTANT
My family has enjoyed the years we have been attending KMCC. I am privileged to now be a part of the staff. I began working at KMCC late September 2018 as the Bookkeeper/Accountant. I also assist with secretarial duties. I feel blessed to be a part of the KMCC team as we work together to be a light to the community around us.
"What drew our family to KMCC years ago was the genuine warmth of the people and sound Biblically-based doctrine. As an elder, I believe it is crucial to foster these two elements. If we pursue Biblical teaching, act on our passion for the lost, show love for the body of believers, and prudently care for the resources God has blessed us with, then KMCC is fully living out God's purpose for our church. It is an honor to serve as we pursue these aims."
"The church is about drawing people closer to God by allowing the Holy Spirit to work within us to become more like Christ which is pleasing and acceptable to God."
I have been a Christian since coming to saving faith in 1987. I have three children and run a small commercial loan finance company called Bellwether Funding. I am active in the music ministries at KMCC and run a clothing drive each year to collect Winter clothing for the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. I live in Delafield with my wife, Cindy, and we have three adult children. My passion is to give back to KMCC since it has given my family so much over the years. My family and I have been active members of KMCC since 2004.
My vision is that we (Christians) fully understand that we deserve the wrath of God. This is the same wrath Christ eliminated at the cross, giving us undeserved mercy and grace. Thus we need to live lives of servanthood, compassion, forgiveness, love, hope and generally be the light of Christ to those around us.
"We love our church family here. It's loving and genuine and small enough that most people can get to know each other. Jesus is the center of everything that goes on from the nursery and kids' programs to the greeters, community groups, adult Bible studies, and prayer ministry. Exactly what we want in a church."
KMCC is a Bible preaching church where there are great people who love the Lord.
Tom serves as both Elder and Deacon
